2009 Vauxhall Omega flat battery replaced car failing to start

On attaching jump leads to my sons omega, the engine turns over efficiently and appears to fire but will not run. Has the flat battery and/or jump disrupted the management system creating a no start situation?

If it's a petrol engine , pull the spark plugs and check same in case just fouled up / flooded .

Thank you for your suggestion. Sadly it's diesel. Is it possible for diesels to flood and if so how is it resolved?
