2003 Vauxhall Omega fuel filling

Variant: 2.2 CDX
I can only re-fuel at a very slow rate. If I try to hold the hose handle down fully it keeps locking out. It now takes me about four times as long to re-fuel than it used to.

Usually caused by the fuel tank vent valve or possibly hose not allowing tank to breathe .
