Won't turn over.

Basically my mate had a "great" idea,
he took the hazard lights switch out and put it in upside down which turns the ignition on,
since then my car hasn't been turning over,
it's not the battery and i'm sure it's not flooded,
possibly the immobiliser?
can anyone help?
