Can anybody help

when you select drive it seems not to be engaging, reverse working fine!. If you select low on the box it pulls away without difficulty but you have to manually go up the stages Low - 2 - 3 (with difficulty)then drive.
When it is driving it does not kick down through the gears.

Oils checked all okay.

Check the kickdown cable / adjustment . Might need to get it scanned to see what shows .

An autobox specialist is a good port of call.

Firstly thank you.

I'm new to this.

How do you test the kickdown cable/adjustment.

It,s the cable that sit,s along side your accelerator cable which kicks the box down or up a gear as you accelerate or decelerate ,if this is loose or maladjusted then it could cause this issue you could also check that your transmission fluid is ok ,at the correct level and not burnt or deteriorated.

If you are unsure of this then any good garage should be able to check this for you,but any further checks ,if the fault is box/mechanical would require pressure check,s and solenoid body checking by a specialist as already advised or good main dealer.
