frontera engine manigment light kept on flashing and because it was flashing i couldn't get it started.

sounds like it could be immobiliser fault,is engine cranking over,are you getting fuel and spark if petrol engine?are cylinder compressions ok?best to get a diagnostic done to see what faults are stored

Get it scanned and see what shows .
