1995 Vauxhall Frontera turns over but will not start :(

Hello :)
I'm just doing this for my Dad
He's ran into a problem with his Frontera :(
Right he lost the original key and could never find it, so he has had to since buy replacement door lock and igniton barrel
Which is all fitted and fine, but the problem he has now is, the battery was flat so that got replaced pronto
And now all the lights come on as normal, radio etc, but no heater? and also when he turns the key it turns over but just will not start :(
He has no idea why and would really like some advice!!
So yeaa that's about it, if anyone can help us out that would be great!, look forward to hearing from you soon

hi,it is poss the replacement key has not got a transponder fitted to it, i think on some of these models the key has a sender (small chip) & a reciever under the steering wheel cowl,the reciever picks up a signal from the key and turns off the immobiliser,to check if one fitted remove the plastic cover below the steering wheel.look if there is a small black box with wires coming out of it.if it has it could be poss immob fault ie key. if not may need a visit to a main dealer. hope this is of help

hi there i have a x reg vauxhall frontera was running fine a few days ago untill now.. i go to start and engine management light comes on with spanner after i try to turn it over, the engine managment light blinks twice then stays on. car wont start any idea`s
