Engine warning light coming on at 55mph

2002 Vauxhall Frontera 2.2
Car: Vauxhall Frontera
Year: 2002
Variant: 2.2
Categories: Engine & DrivetrainElectrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Engine warning light on my frontera came on when I was on the motorway, I struggled to get up to 70mph and when I backed off on the speed the engine warning light went off and didn't come back on for the rest of the journey home. It seemed to have more guts in it when I dropped a gear.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Possibly indicating a fuel issue ,if it has a filter change it ,there maybe codes stored that would guide diagnostics ,worth checking first.
