Blue smoke and engine running poorly

the engine is running rough and blue smoke is coming out of the exhaust.
it seems to get worse as the engine warms.
i have changed the oil and filter as i thought i may have added a bit to much oil previously but nothing has changed.
can anyone help??

You need to run a compression test,wet and dry,possible valve trouble,guides or seals.
