Lurching at low speed

my car lurches when i pull away and at low speeds , ive changed the plugs and leads but dont want to keep throwing money at it due to the age, could anyone narrow down what it might be

hi,if the distributor cap has a black cover on it the spark used to go through the cap and track along the underside of the cover,this used to give the symptoms you describe,if replacing the cap i would recommend you also change the rotor.

check your distributor cap and rotor arm are not worn

just replaced the distributor and rotor arm and its exactly the same not sure what to do from here im starting to think it may be a fuel problem as its searching while ticking over and today it stuck on 2000 revs at the traffic lights . does anyone know what would be the next thing to look at please

dont know i have had the car for a few months only and i havent changed it. somebody mentioned the throttle body
