am hearing, on tickover, an engine noise similar to tappet rattle. engine performs o.k. otherwise. Have recently carried out an oil/filter change @ no usage of oil.

if hyd tappets at fault oil must be changed very hot,warm or cold oil change waste of time.

Probably the exhaust manifold , it is a common fault and they tend to crack . I have the same problem , but my garage tell me to ignore . It goes away when the engine is warm .
