2009 Vauxhall Antara clutch gone

Car: Vauxhall Antara
Year: 2009
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
the clutch has gone on my dads antara, which we both use. It's only done about 10,000 miles and my dad doesnt hover over the clutch whilst driving, or hold on the clutch whilst stationary. My car (which used to be his) has done 60,000 miles without needing a new clutch and been used constantly in rush hour motorway traffic, so a much heavier use of the clutch and is still going strong. Vauxhall are trying to say that it has gone due to driver abuse and we are really struggling to get them to admit their must be a fault somewhere. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Unless there is a mechanical fault with the clutch assembly , you will have virtually no chance with getting it replaced under warranty .Saying that , this is from another forum re. same fault .

Antara Clutch issues?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remember my frind who had the Astra TT that ended up with complete new wiring that took 6 weeks to sort! Well he brought an Antara about a year ago, and with 14k on the clock the cluch has gone!

VXL have been out to look at it, and will pay for parts but he has to cover the £400+ labour costs!

VXL just lost two customers as his wife wants rid of the Astra now as she doesn't trust it and he won't be buying another one.

Bloody stupid.

I'm guessing that Vauxhall have not heard about customer retention.
