2014 Vauxhall Antara drl on permanently

On this model when the lighting switch is on AUTO all the external lights are permanently on. I'm told that this is the way that the car is wired at the factory.
Does anyone know if this can be reverted to true auto where the lights on auto only come on in poor lighting conditions?

DRL usually only bring on front lights on most new cars today .
