2008 Vauxhall Agila gear sound

Hard to say without driving the car and hearing the noise . Have you had the car and noise since 2008 or was it bought s/hand ?

Thank you for your Reply We bought the car in July or August 2020 the noise as always been there The car had to go into the garage to have the passenger window looked at as it wasn't working .The garage had to have driven the car from the car park they use to their workshop thought they might have mentioned the noise at the time. If we take it to the garage will they be able to tell what it is just by listening to it ?

They should be able to identify the noise by carrying out a short road test . There are many possible causes , engine or gearbox mountings , exhaust mountings to name a few . Hope it's something minor .
