2009 Vauxhall Agila interior lights not working

the interior lights and boot light are not working when doors are opened. I have changed fuses, bulbs, switches and light units but fault still exists. The strange thing is that the interior lights work from the units switch but not the boot light. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

On some cars / makes the boot light only comes on when the side lights are on .
