The problem is usually a dirty MAF or an error with the ECU. Try unplugging the ECU (bottom of passenger footwell, under glove box) for 10 minutes, then plug it back in and run it for 10 minutes standing. If its still no better, take off the airbox and unscrew the MAF (Mass Air Flow) meter and clean the bead until it is golden instead of black with electrical cleaner. If it is dirty, renew the air filter.
