hi my wifes car wont start unless you keep the accelerator on the floor 'takes about 10 seconds of continues turning on the key before it will fire 'if it was an old car I would say it needed choke '? anyone any idea please thanks tony
Car: Toyota Yaris Variant: 1.3 auto paddle shift Year: 2012
Not sure on that car but it's normally the engine coolant temp sensor that lets the ecu know it's a cold start and needing more fuel .Just like your old choke as you mention, but as suggested , should be covered by warranty .
we had a vectra 1.9cdti come to us with the same problem, there was low compression in one or more cylinders, but would advise to check battery, alternator, spark/slow plugs first and after that do a compression check.
