ENGINE OVER REVING

WHEN I START THE CAR UP FROM COLD THE ENGINE OVER REVS ITS SELF FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES THEN GOES OFF IVE HAD IT ON A DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE AND IT PICKED NOTHING UP THE CAR HAS JUST BEEN SERVICED

it just sounds like a automatic choke so there is nothing to worry about

My avensis does something similar sometimes, usually when the A/C kicks in or there is some other electrical load like the heated rear window.

This happens on purpose when the engine is cold/not warm enough.

It usually revs up to 1k and then drops to 500 when its warm enough.
