Hi,
Has anybody attempted to change a steering rack on a MKII? Is it a tough job? Anything which is tricky/tough? Any tips? How long should it take etc etc?
Is there a "how-to" anywhere that may help me?
Thanks

Its not difficult.
Jack up,axle stands, wheels off, undo steering arms, undertray off, undo steering column from frunk, loosen 4 bolts holding rack, undo power steering hoses (get a bowl ready for fluid).
Then reverse fit.
Make sure that you get your steering wheel and rack centalised (easier with 2 people).
think thats all.
Also possible to preload the rack, something like 36lbs and then 12 degrees back, will try to find a link. Found it http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=147691&highlight=
