hi my son has a 2.2 auto toyota lucida 'every time the car pulls of and changes gear the rev counter flies right over to max 'then back to normal when gear is engaged 'anyone know what the problem is please thanks tony

Check all earths , on some Toyotas there are three . Or try a temp earth with a jump cable from engine to body and see if it helps .Also check if earth wire at alternator .
