2009 Suzuki Swift starting problem

Car: Suzuki Swift
Year: 2009
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
My Suzuki Swift is just over 3 years old - and back in April/May time, it had a series of times where it wouldnt start.

The first couple of times I put it down to random occurances & it started with a push. The third time stranded me at Thorpe Park, and I had to call the AA out. The engineer diagnosed it as an alternator problem - so I took it to the dealership the next day to be looked at.

They claimed no problem was found. Over the following week it again had problems starting (making a screeching sound when trying to), often having to turn the keys over numourous times. I insisted they took it in to be looked at over a longer period. So left it with them for the whole weekend. Again they claimed it was fine - although did say they tightened something (I forgot what!).

At this stage - I was a couple of weeks from the end of my warranty, and they knew this. I did even say to them - if the problem persists I would expect them to sort it under warranty as I had reported the problem in time & felt they were stalling.

Whatever they did 'tighten' seems to do the trick....until the two weeks. Again stranded at Thorpe Park, thankfully a passerby had jump leads. Now, it is every time I start the car, it needs to be revved & several times its been dead in the morning.

Obivously there was a problem - which they ignored/covered up, I havent been able to get the dealer, tomorrow before Palace will be the first chance - but do I have a case to make them fix it under warranty? Is there an ombudsman I can go to if they refuse?

Thanks all.
