Shift lock appears to be faulty intermittently but gear box works fine , shifts correctly etc
2010 Suzuki Splash 1.2 GLS+ Automatic

Sometimes the gear selector will not move from park, the dashboard indicator ( P,R,D,321 ) does not show what gear its in. The gearbox works correctly all the time, shifts smoothly and kick down is instant. Am I correct in suspecting the shift lock mechanism ?

Could be the shift lock solenoid / wiring but not the best of transmissions .Might be better contacting a local auto trans specialist for report / guidance before getting in to deep
