2003 Suzuki Liana lost reverse gear

my car was fitted with a new gear selecter last year,i reversed the car out from where it was parked drove for 100 miles then went to reverse it into a parking place then found i could not get reverse and still have no reverse,any ideas?

Sounds like fault with cable / linkage set up .

sa whittingehame says they do have cable problems, have someone move the stick make sure both cables move both ways. but when the selector is replaced there are 2 important bolts one has a 12mm head on the front of the box this locates the reverse idler, the second is below the selector14 mm head to locate the limiter for selector.if bolts are in the right place and fitted correctly then its box out im afraid.its got to be one of the simplist boxes in the world to rebuild and only takes 3-4 hours including removal and replacment id say about £100 plus parts if reqd
