If heater leaking your coolant level would drop .Also usually a sweet smell from antifreeze and a different colour from rainwater .Check if car has any bulkhead water drains which may be choked , if pollen / cabin filter on that car , check also for water penetration through that . If air con fitted , check drain hose .
