2002 Suzuki Jimny engine stops when revs above 3500

Car: Suzuki Jimny
Year: 2002
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
For about the past 6 months whenever I drive above about 3500 revs in any gear the engine management light flashes, the engine stutters for about 15/20 seconds then stops. I then need to turn off the ignition and wait about 5 mins before trying again. Sometimes it may fire up again and still splutter. This all means that to drive anywhere I can't safely go above 3000 revs.

The RAC have put it on their diagnostics and can't find the problem, and it's been into my local garage a couple of times...still no cure.

Any ideas anyone please as this is now unsafe because I can't trust the thing or drive above about 40mph!

if the eng light flashes it could be an imobilizer fault you realy need a main dealer to plug into car as only main dealers can access imob codes.if lamp was on steady it could be read by anyone
