Lane keep assist probkem

So i want to switch the Lka off and have done so by hitting the button when I start the car which in turn, switches the light off on the display screen but the Lka still kicks in. I really find it really annoying when the steering wheel adjusts itself when I’m driving and am concerned that it’s a fault with the steering as it shouldn’t happen when the Lka is deactivated..I deactivate it each time I drive the car because it comes back on again. Is there something else I should be doing to fully deactivate it?
