I just bought the new korando 2.0 auto diesel. The problem is thick white smoke came out from exhaust while i'm driving and i noticed it happened everytime i applied the brake on stopping. I had to pull over, turn off the engine and wait for some time to start again and the smoke will gone. Can someone help me with this problem, thank you.

If it's a 2011 car take it back to the dealer under warranty if it's not the usual smoke all cars get on start up , especially in cold weather .

I already did that and the mechanic from the dealer said because of overfilled oil and 'said' that they had fixed the problem. But still the smoke came out. Now I need to do some homework before i send it back 'again' to the dealer. I'm hoping someone will have an idea on the problem so i can talk to the mechanic later. Thank you.

Too much oil in an engine can damage it and usually blows blue smoke out exhaust , not white .White smoke can be caused by unburnt fuel or water in fuel .

I too had the same problem and took it to the agent in Sri Lanka. then only i got to know that it is not a problem but a feature. Korando has a technology called CDPF (Catalyzed Diesel Particulate Filter). What it does is collect vapor, co2 and other gasses from exhaust and burn out time to time in a high temperature. It has many advantages but bit embarrassing when it happens in the traffic :-). It happens often (for 200kms) when you pump normal diesel and happens rarely (400km) when you pump super diesel. What they advised it not to panic and do not stop the engine while it happens. You can adjust the CDPF system and its' functionality through software updates from your agent (matching to different weathers ). You can find more information about korando CDPF system from following PDF document.
