2008 Skoda Roomster dipped headlights don't work.

IF bulb tested o.k , I would check the fuses first

b) If the engine is switched off already one electrical component which is connected can discharge the battery.

the problem is the type of lights, they do light but for dipped beam they rely on a flap over the bulb to re-direct main beam and this does not illuminate the road

Get someone to operate the lights and hear / see if the metal shutters are operating ? Otherwise will need scanned with the likes of Vagcon for fault codes
