2001 Skoda Octavia poop warm & hot starting

I have a 2001 Skoda Octavia 1.9 diesel from new with 44k on clock regular maintained, it as developed a starting problem when the engine is hot or just even warm. From cold it starts instantly every time. One garage tells me the the glow plugs need replacing another says it can't be the glow plugs as it would effect cold starts. Any ideas.

Correct about glow plugs and cold starts .Crank sensor and speed sensor can cause this fault . This link explains all , should help you .

I finally took the car into a Skoda dealer to sort the problem out, on the first try they coudn't find anything. Re booked in for electronic test, this showed no faults. Booked again for a through electronic check and strip and test all electrical components to engine. This time they found the fault - relace coolent temp sensor.
Part 059919501A TEMPERATURESENDER + N90316802 O-ring.
All this cost £67.48 incl vat. including several small trim jobs done.
Hats off to Skoda dealer Robert Eardley & Son Talke Road Newcastle Staffs Branch.
