2006 Skoda Octavia speed topping out at 74 mph

I noticed recently on overtaking on the motorway my Octavia accelerated well up to 70 then dropped out and stayed at 74 mph. This seems to of only happened since I had the glow plugs changed. I'm not aware of any limiter on the car, but apparently there is now. Any help?

does the car rev freely in other gears as that engine can go into limp home mode which limits the output power to protect the engine.if so get codes in ecu read first
