Some info from Skoda forum on s/absorbers might be useful to you .You may save some money if you go to s/absorber fast fit centre , worth a call .Or maybe you prefer main dealer as some people do .

Best to replace as a pair to keep the handling balanced.

Most shocks these days (including the standard ones) are gas pressurised. Its to stop foaming and cavitation of the fluid when the shock is working hard.

The MOT was done @ a Skoda main dealer and they quoted £350 to supply and fit although it would take them around 1 week to get the dampers into stock, so I'm guessing they will be around £100/£120 each.

Through eurocarparts I have a choice of Sachs or Bilstein
