2001 Skoda Octavia fail to start

will turn over but will not start oil light will flash . will turn over and star most off the time but every now and will not start will turn over and oil light flashes will start after 4or 5 times and revs will go up slowly then settile back after a few seconds . have checked fuil pump and relays . also there is a clicking noise in engine when it fails to start.
