2008 Skoda Octavia rear tyres

Car: Skoda Octavia
Year: 2008
Variant: estate TDI
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
I bought my car new in 2008, it was fitted with michelin tyres. I managed to get 46000miles out of them. I fitted new michelins in mid 2013 and have done 15000 miles on them. AT the MOT earlier this week the tester reported that both rear tyres were worn on the inner edge close to the legal limit. It was suggested that this was due to speed humps. Is this possible? Are many cars suffering from the same problems? Why didn't speed humps cause problems with my first set of tyres? Or is it more likely to be some other problem i.e. suspension. Many thanks Greytyke.

If it was caused by speed bumps ( lol ) would it not affect all cars ? Crazy suggestion !! Rear tyre wear is a common complaint and known fault on your car .It is caused by rear suspension geometry being out .You need to get it checked for any wear on bushes etc . and if o.k , get a 4 wheel alignment check carried out using the like of Hunter equipment .Not 100% sure , but think there may have been revised alignment data / specs .
