2020 Skoda Kamiq skoda kamiq reg yx20tcv, clutch and flywheel burnt out (12453mls) cost me £ 2364.22 to repair. skoda knew about fault from recall . nothing done

Any recall usually mentions exactly the vehicles covered , year
, vin numbers , fault and action needed to repair . All I could find was this .

Vehicle specification  Model: Octavia III, Scala, Karoq, Kamiq, Fabia III  Engine: 1,0 TSI (EA 211) in combination with the manual gearbox MQ200  Complaint/Fault symptom  Clutch slips, smell of burning from the clutch area  After having been removed, the clutch is found to be burnt or degraded/fallen apart



Technical background/Cause  Due to anticorrosion protection applied to the flywheel and the clutch, the friction value increase is much more slowly. This may lead to premature clutch failures.  Despite optimizing measures (plate lining of the clutch S308, the diaphragm spring of the pressure plate with temperature stability and decreased rpm in the transport mode), the premature heat overload of the clutch still sporadically occurs.  The clutch failures occur in the range from 10 km to several thousands km depending on how the vehicle is operated.  Measure/Production change  Parts without Anticorit have been fitted to the vehicles since CW 20/2019 (except for Fabia III, where the measure has not been implemented yet).

cheers looks like I,ll be replacing clutch etc every 12000mls. wish I had my old Fabia from new, 16yrs 98000 still same clutch...

Really bad , seem to hearing of more different makes with clutch failures at low mileage every day now , shouldn't be happening .

Crazy price for clutch job

We have a 2022 Kamiq with less than 2000miles on it, 1st gear not engaging, Skoda had it for a few hours without finding a fault. This week it has failed to engage 5 times already, waiting for a response from Skoda.

Please keep us up to date on and what action taken to resolve the fault .

MG - Are you still having the problem with the 1st gear not engaging?

Sorry for the delay, master cylinder replaced eventually by Skoda. no issues since on this car, however clutch andf flywheel broken on an identical vehicle we have under lease. Cost to us @ £2500 + VAT.

My clutch and flywheel went with only 12000mls on clock, 1yr 8mths OLD, there was a recall for this fault but my car nothing. Cost me £2300 to repair.

Same here 72 plate Kamiq 12800 miles sudden clutch failure known about no recall and try to get you to pay for. These sudden failures out of the blue on a main road could cause a serious accident and needs to be reviewed seriously by Skoda

If known defect , should be under warranty
