Ticking Noise

1998 Skoda Felicia 1.3
Car: Skoda Felicia
Year: 1998
Variant: 1.3
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I have a very [u]faint ticking[u] noise not sure where it is coming from, its there regardless of whether i'm sat still or moving. Anyone know what this could be......my dad can't hear the noise, as his hearing is not all there (he's old thats all) lol. I'm just worried as some people have mentioned the head gaskett, my old car went to the scrapheap in the sky due to the head going. Any ideas guys?

ticking noise could be anything ie exhaust manifold gasket leaking which can be checked with a piece of tissue start the car and hover the tissue over the exhaust manifold and this will start to flap about if there is a leak around the exhaust or it could even be a mechanical ticking noise but would need more info on this one if the head gasket was going you would see signs like (over heating loss of power poor fuel economy poor starting in the morning loss of water)things like that

I agree with thomcas_cars, it sounds like you have an exhaust leak at the manifold area.
