Leaks rain water under dashboard

My car leaks water under the dashboard, on the driver's side, through the isolation. It has rained heavily last night, so I suspect the water has leaked under the bonnet and into the isolation and found a way straight into the car.
Has anyone had this problem? What can I do about it, make some kind of barrier to keep the water from entering the car?
