Brake light above the rear windshield doesn’t go off when car has stopped and engine switched off. Eventually goes off after about 30mins
Problem added: Feb 20, 2021 (3 years ago)
Do the other brake lights go off ?

Yes, everything goes off as usual, just the one over the top of the rear windscreen stays on. We’re just trying to take the bulb out as removing the fuse didn’t work ? I’d though the light had gone off after about 30mins by a neighbour just rang to say it was still on but v faint.
Can’t see anything in manual to help.
Would be grateful of any advice..?
Many thanks for replying so quickly ??

Check at top of tailgate where there is usually a rubber sheath covering the wiring as it passes into the tailgate and often gets damaged or broken causing the wires to short out / touch .

Many thanks....as it’s an led strip of lights I don’t think it’s attached to a fuse as once brake fuse was out, light was still on ?
Have tweaked the wiring in suggested top left rubber sheath and, for now, turned it off....will get garage to look at it as mot due next month. Brake lights are fine, just no 3rd one for now.
Thank you for advice. ??
