Shuttering and loosing power ocasionally

2005 Skoda Fabia 1.2 petrol
Car: Skoda Fabia
Year: 2005
Variant: 1.2 petrol
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
hi, i have a 1.2 petrol 3 cylinder that now and again looses power and shutters at 20 mph. taking it up in gears helps to increase the speed. if i let it "rest" for a while it can resume to normal but mgt light stays on. put in new coil pack, cam shaft sensor, it seems like it is running on dirty fuel. is this to do with valve timing belt? broken or bent valve? ht leads? ditributor cap? ive spent alot of money to get this fixed and still the same problem! any suggestions?

Does that car not have three individual pencil coils ? have you only replaced the one ?

yes, your right, it does have 3, when hooked up it read number 2 coil pack. would you advise replace all at same time regardless?

They are a very common cause of intermittently breaking down , causing misfire .Well worth considering changing the other two and also check wiring to coils . If not been done for a while , also check plugs .Hope this helps .

have you had it code read? if not i would do that before you waste any more money, if it is a misfire its likely it will leave a trace in the ecu, coils do fail but its rare more than one will go at any one time, if they are singular

this car 3 months on is still doing the same thing. wat ive noticed now is that when running and it begis to splutter, if i switch it off pull out the key, then insert key again, start it up, it runs perfect for another 5 mins. Some days it would not give any bother, then when it does, it does. Any ideas?

Question
My wife has a Fabia 1.2 petrol 3 cylinder that shudders and then stalls if it has to wait at traffic lights or junctions for to long. Its been in the garage a few times but runs OK while their, they have replaced all three plug coils also other parts its been on computer but they cannot cure the problem.
It seems like its short of petrol when it dies, we switch off wait 5 minites then it starts and flies away with no problem except the angry motorists behind we have held up! Please can you help us?
