2005 Seat Leon won't go in 6th gear, keeps popping out!

Year: 2005
Variant: 2.0 TDI sport 16v

I am on the motorway, I put the car in 6 th gear, 2 seconds later it pops out of gear, it does this every time as of late, it is a manual, can somebody please help and tell me the problem?? It's only 6th gear, feel like a hammer is knocking it out wen trying to hold in 6th.. Thankyou.

sounds like selector fault in gearbox or hub moving due to loose retaining nut did a similar job on a volvo 5 speed selector was worn easily repaired by removing end case on box and fitting new one best to find a good gearbox specialist in your area to check it out for you but i would get it repaired sooner rather than later as you dont want to cause damage to gearbox

If the selector is not worn and adjusted correctly ,check this first ,Then it can only be a selector hub issue inside the box the hub,s not locking correctly and kick,s it back out under load,as previously suggested a gearbox specialist should easily fix it.
