sometimes when i try to start the car i turn the key and the whole dashboard goes blank and the car does not start if i open the drivers door and close it then turn the key sometimes the car starts or it doenn't and i have to open the door again and start the process again the only thing is it doesn't happen everytime sometimes i get in and it starts no problem. has anyone experienced this problem and knows a fix i'm at my wits end and about to put a match to the car:(

possible engine wireing loom fault. these have been known to cause all sorts of problems. also could be battery connections or problem in fuse box.hope this helps
