Losing power and slight back fire in 3rd,4th & 5th gear

2003 Seat Leon 1.6 s manual petrol
Car: Seat Leon
Year: 2003
Variant: 1.6 s manual petrol
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
When I'm accelerating through 3rd,4th and 5th gears. I get a stutter/backfire feeling from the engine and a loss of power for a few seconds until it comes back and goes through gears ok. It happens between 50-70 mph depending on gear problem occurs. I have been to a garage and he said he can't see or feel a problem but I know it's there. HELP PLEASE!!

Check plugs and ignition / plug leads .Could be intermittently breaking down under load causing misfire .

Should have mentioned it may be coil pack , depending on what's fitted .Also depends on mileage whether plugs were or are due changing .You would need the garage to check them if not sure how to. The other thing to consider , again depending on mileage is the cambelt due changing ?

replace plugs and plug leads even new plugs can break down.If this does not work replace ignition coil {a good second hand one would do} if all this fails the only other solution is the rotor shaft in the distributor. [again a second hand one would do the job].
