upon turning off the ignition and exiting the car and locking it the dashboard dials remain on,this may drain the battery,maybe a earthing problem ?

Has it just started to do this ? On some cars they stay on for a certain time before cutting off .

it sometimes stays on all night,or as long as i leave it.
