When I change gear sometimes the car struggles to gain speed and sometimes slows down. Once stopped its fine and drives for a bit a till it happens again

Has it got any fault lights on?. It might still be worth checking the codes, but particularly the live data, make sure the sensors are within the specifications
but look closely at the lambda readings, map or maff reasdings and throttle % that's where I would say the fault would lie,
