2006 Rover CityRover engine won't start

Driving down road radio went off and abs light came on
Pulled over to side of road
Revved ok and brakes worked
Switched engine off as you do thinking fault will clear
But turned the key and engine won't start
Got half a turn on engine
Is it possible battery has died
Any other causes you may know about
Car hasn't missed a beat in 5 years

As you suggest check battery first .

Went in for a cup of tea thought I would wait for the rain to ease off and nodded off for an hour or two
Been on nights you see
When I came out and tried to start it

Started first time
Any ideas
Had something warmed up electric wise ?

You could check battery terminals and earth cable that normally runs from the engine / gearbox to the body of the car are tight and clean .Good to hear car starts o.k but annoying when it's intermittent and you are not sure of cause .
