Rover 8 Problems

2 real owner problems with the Rover 8

Ignition light stays on

Ignition light stays on .Have checked battery on multi-meter and it reads 12.4 volts but with engine running only reads 11.1 volts. Could it be anything else but a faulty alternator.?
