Please Help
Rover 75 overheating, the coolant and oil seem fine but after 5 - 10 minutes engine running the temp guage goes to red, cooling fan on constant but radiator is cold, top pipe hot. Changed thermostat but after checking the original in pan of boiling water found to be ok. sounds like the inevitable cylinder H G but hoping for a better outcome. Thinking of trying Steelfix head gasket repair ?

Sounds like head gasket , a block test will confirm or not

I slung some k seal in my 75 and it worked almost straight away, and no problems since. Worth giving it a go and only a tenner.

Hi everyone .
Just had the same problem with my rover 75 . Your problem is the CYLINDER HEAD . Exhaust gas as is getting into the water coolant and after 5 or so miles the gas will cause an airlock and the water will not move around the system , top hose will be very hot and under pressure . Radiator will be cold due to fan always on , bottom hose cold . Changing the head gasket will not fix this, you will need a new or recon cylinder head . Hope this help .
