1999 Rover 75 rev counter

when starting first thing and also sometimes when stationary the revs seem to climb nearly at 2000 revs normal idle seems between 800 and 1000. also when in 20 mph zones it feels like the car is juddering.radiator level is spot on and has been since mot head gasket recently done

check the obvious things like there are no vacuum leaks on the inlet manifold,check to see if your car has the modified throttle housing fitted as there was a problem with them,check throttle cable/linkage is`nt sticking and check your stepper motor setting,if you switch ignition on and press the throttle pedal to floor 5 times and release then switch ignition off then this will reset the throttle postion sensor
