2004 Rover 75 jumping into gear at low gear

Car: Rover 75
Year: 2004
Variant: 1.8 turbo Connoisseur estate
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The automatic gearbox jumps into gear as the engine revs rise. This applies to reverse, first, second and possibly fourth gear. Once on the road at speed the gear change is normal and smooth.
One engineer who took it apart said the gear box was o.k. and the fault was probably with the torque converter or the solenoids

Any suggestions welcome !!

Check all wiring to solenoids etc. and if no fault found get it scanned .
