2000 Rover 400 loss of power now wont start

Car: Rover 400
Year: 2000

driving down the road today as normal.the car then desides to kangagroo jump or loose power then get it back again.i was only around the corner from home so carried on driving.unfortunatly it lost all forward power and decided to cut out and not restart.the engine turns over but wont start.

any help would be much apriciated.

i would say that it is the air flow meter as these would result in the car not starting correctly but see if any one else comes up with some answers for you and could be the coil pack as these are also common

I had a similar problem recently. Car died on me without warning then wouldn't start again. Turned out to be the distributer head. Had to have it replaced.
