Get a sniff test ( block test ) done on cooling system .

when the head was skimmed was it checked for cracks,do you have oil and water mixing.do pressure test and block test as whitinghame stated,if the engine is not warming up then you have a circulation problem caused by water pump or thermostat failure or a blockage in system, would advise you to flush cooling system through and replace coolant sensor as would have been damaged by over heating

what is a sniff test how do you do it can it be done by myself or just at a garage

you need to get it done by a garage or maybe a mobile mechanic,it works by detecting exhaust gases in the cooling system indicating head gasket failure

You can buy a universal cyl. head combustion leak block tester kit and do it yourself .Can get them on E bay and elsewhere for £40 and save you going into garage and paying them to check out car .

As you say you have had "new radiator new water pump new thermostat " it would be advisable to get test carried out before spending any more money on car .
