hi i have a 2001 rover 25 1.4 16valve the problem is it sits at near 2000 rpm when idileing and when driving it chugs as if its starving of petrol can anyone please help me.

Could check and clean stepper motor / idle control valve / throttle body .

i have installed a new idle control valve checked sensors cant find whats causing it
